app-ads.txtfile on our developer site to help ad ecosystem verification. - You can opt out of personalized advertising using system settings and provider-specific controls. See the Opt Out section below.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: (A) information you provide to us directly; (B) information collected automatically when you use the Services; and (C) information from third parties or partners.
A. Information you provide directly
When you create or update an account, contact support, apply for jobs, enter contests, or otherwise provide data, we may collect:
- Account information such as email address, display name, and profile details.
- Payment information required to process purchases. We do not store full payment card data; payments are processed by third-party payment processors.
- Any content you post to interactive areas such as public forums, chat, or community features. Content posted in public areas is public and not subject to the privacy protections described here.
B. Information collected automatically
When you use the Services we automatically collect technical and usage data, including:
- Identifiers. Device identifiers and advertising identifiers such as Android Advertising ID and the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
- Usage and product interaction. App usage events, features used, screens viewed, time spent, clicks, and ad impressions and interactions.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports, performance metrics, error logs, and other information used to improve stability and performance.
- Network and device data. IP address, device model, operating system version, and app version. IP addresses may be used to infer approximate location.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to collect analytics, measure ads, and enable basic functionality.
C. Information from third parties and partners
We use third-party services that may collect or receive data when you use our Services, including:
- Advertising partners such as Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for ad serving and measurement.
- Analytics providers such as Google Analytics for Firebase or GA4 to collect anonymous usage analytics.
- Crash reporting services such as Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and diagnostic data.
- Other service providers such as payment processors, email providers, hosting providers, and anti-fraud vendors.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data about children. If you believe we have collected such data without parental consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above for purposes including:
- To operate, provide, and improve the Services.
- To authenticate accounts, provide customer support, and communicate about your account and purchases.
- To process purchases and subscriptions via third-party payment processors.
- To deliver, personalize, and measure advertisements. Personalization may include selecting ads based on inferred interests and device signals.
- To perform analytics and measure how people use the Services, and to diagnose and fix crashes or other technical issues.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We may also de-identify or aggregate information and use or disclose it for research and analytics.
3. Advertising, analytics, and crash reporting
This section discloses the third-party services we use and what they may collect.
Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads
We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process:
- Advertising identifiers and other device identifiers.
- App usage and interaction events, including ad impressions and ad interactions.
- Performance and diagnostic data.
- IP address and inferred approximate location.
Google may combine information collected through the SDK with data from other Google services. If the app or a bundled SDK accesses the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) or otherwise performs tracking, we will show the App Tracking Transparency prompt before such access. For controls over Google personalized ads, visit https://adssettings.google.com.
Google Analytics (anonymous)
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage analytics so we can understand how people use ESMO and improve the product. Data collected for analytics typically includes event names, timing, device and OS metadata, and aggregated usage metrics. We do not use Google Analytics to collect precise personal profiles tied to your identity. For more details and choices, see Google’s analytics privacy documentation.
Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data so we can find and fix stability issues. Crashlytics may collect device model, OS version, stack traces, and app state at the time of a crash. Crashlytics does not collect personal information unless you include such data explicitly in crash reports.
Third-party behavior
Each third-party provider has its own privacy policy. We do not control their data practices. We require our providers to use collected data only for the purposes described to us, but you should consult each provider’s privacy documentation for details.
4. App Tracking Transparency and advertising identifiers
If we or any included SDK access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) or perform tracking as Apple defines it, we will request permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt prior to access. If you deny permission, any tracking that requires ATT will not be performed.
If you want to opt out of personalized advertising:
- On iOS, use the system privacy settings and answer “Ask App Not to Track” in the ATT prompt.
- To opt out of Google personalized ads, visit https://adssettings.google.com.
- You can also enable browser-level privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control and we will respect those signals where applicable.
5. Do we sell or share personal information?
- We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
- We do disclose or share certain categories of device and usage information with service providers, advertising networks, analytics providers, and measurement partners for the business purposes described above. Under certain privacy laws, including the CCPA/CPRA, some of these disclosures may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants you rights regarding sales or sharing, see the Your Rights section for how to exercise those rights.
6. Data retention and transfers
We retain personal information as long as needed to provide Services, support business operations, satisfy legal obligations, detect fraud, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries. When transferring personal data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized mechanisms.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is perfect. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
